Zurich, September 4th, 2026
IMPAG Group today announced a long-term succession plan for its executive leadership.
After more than 30 years with the company, including 22 years as Chief Executive Officer, Remo Bernardi will hand over his operational responsibilities as CEO to Peter Alder effective January 1st, 2027.
At the same time, Remo Bernardi will assume the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors and continue to support the strategic development of the Group.
Peter Alder has played an active role in shaping the development of IMPAG Group over the past 19 years through a variety of leadership positions and as a member of the Executive Board. Together with Jan Dätwyler (CFO) and Reto Hess (COO), he forms a highly experienced leadership team that has jointly driven the strategic and entrepreneurial development of IMPAG Group for many years. Their long-standing relationship of trust, shared values, and common understanding of the company's long-term direction provide a strong foundation for the Group’s next phase of development.
For Remo Bernardi, this transition represents the continuation of a leadership philosophy that has shaped the company for many years: “Developing and empowering the next generation of leaders has always been a fundamental element of our leadership culture. Entrusting responsibility at an early stage and creating sustainable succession solutions are essential prerequisites for the long-term success of any organisation. Through this succession plan, we are now applying this principle consistently at the Executive Board level as well. Today, IMPAG Group benefits from an exceptionally strong leadership team and outstanding employees across all countries and functions. For this reason, I am convinced that this is the right time to transfer operational leadership at the executive level to the next generation of leaders. I look forward to continuing to support and accompany the future development of the Group in my new role as Chairman of the Board of Directors.”
Peter Alder, designated CEO of IMPAG Group, commented: “IMPAG Group is exceptionally well positioned for the future: with strong market positions, dedicated employees, long-standing partnerships, and a clear strategic direction. Building on a strong foundation, we will continue the successful development of recent years and unlock new growth opportunities for the Group. Taking on the role of CEO is, for me, an honour and a responsibility at the same time. Together with the Executive Board, our employees, and our partners, we will preserve the values and strengths that have shaped IMPAG Group while actively embracing the opportunities of an evolving market environment. I look forward to continuing this journey with our employees, customers, suppliers, and partners and to contributing to the next chapter of IMPAG Group’s success.”
Over the past decades, IMPAG Group has continuously expanded its international presence, entered new markets and further enhanced its service offering. Through sustainable organic growth and selected acquisitions, the Group has strengthened its market position and successfully evolved its business for the future.
IMPAG Group looks to the future with confidence. Building on a strong leadership culture, a solid market position, a sound financial foundation and a clear set of values, the company will continue to pursue its growth strategy and further strengthen its collaboration with customers, suppliers and business partners.
