Oat protein and beta glucan – Tate & Lyle increases its production capacities in Sweden
Our partner Tate & Lyle has once again recently increased its production capacities for oat protein (PrOatein) and beta-glucan (PromOat). Thus they can continue to meet the sharply rising demand for these raw materials.
Properties of PrOatein oat protein are:
- Purely vegetable – thus suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets
- Rich in essential amino acids
- Pale beige colour
- Free-flowing powder
- Good taste
- Good water binding capacity
- Clean Label
- Obtained from GMO-free oats from Sweden without the use of chemicals, excipients or preservatives.
The soluble oat fibre beta glucan is being used increasingly in the drinks industry:
- For adjusting viscosity of sugar-free drinks: PromOat can be used to optimize the mouthfeel of sugar-free drinks. A recommended dosage for this application is 0.075–0.1%.
- PromOat can also be used to reduce the juice content of fruit juice drinks while maintaining the mouthfeel.
