Cholinactive® – The phosphatidylcholine range of IMPAG Iberia

Phosphatidylcholine has a positive impact by incorporating a higher proportion of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids at the cell membrane level. They increase the fluidity of the membrane and balance its permeability for the correct performance of its biological functions such as cell movement, growth and division and the maintenance of homeostasis. 

Cognitive health  

Choline is a critical nutrient for cognitive development, necessary for the formation of acetylcholine (neurotransmitter) and the prevention of neural tube defects and cognitive impairment. It plays a key role in the processing and storage of the memory, which are fundamental functions to learning and knowledge retention.

Liver health

It is a major component of hepatocytes and, together with bile salts, helps to solubilize bile acids, improve digestion in the intestine and increase lipid transport from the liver to the cells, thus preventing the development of a fatty liver (steatosis). 

Cardiovascular health

It promotes the reduction of cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. It also reduces homocysteine levels. The effect of phosphatidylcholine in reducing the levels of these components reduces the potential risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
